About
Dr Abeyna Jones is an entrepreneur, occupational health consultant, and internationally recognised leader who's redefining what doctors can achieve beyond the clinic. She's the founder of Medic Footprints and creator of Doctors in Industry, two groundbreaking platforms that help doctors build high-value, purpose-driven careers in leadership, consulting, and entrepreneurship.
Her own career started in medicine, and it included a stint as a trauma surgeon in South Africa. She saw how little support there was for doctors who wanted something different, so she started Medic Footprints in 2014. What began as a small grassroots movement is now a global community of more than 120,000 doctors looking at careers in healthtech, consulting, leadership and business.
Doctors in Industry (DII) is the flagship programme within Medic Footprints, and it helps doctors find and land well paid non clinical careers. It focuses on three things: getting clear on what you actually want, positioning yourself so the right opportunities find you, and building the network that opens doors. Abeyna also hosts The Power Shift podcast, where she talks to doctors and industry leaders about how these moves really happen.
Abeyna has been featured in the Financial Times, The Times, BBC, HuffPost, BusinessCloud and Sifted. She was a finalist for the Black British Business Awards and has judged the Health Tech Awards five times. She is also a mum of two, a classically trained pianist and, by her own admission, a ballad singer at heart.
